I have come to the conclusion that I hate my job.
I hate, hate, HATE it!!
I hate my boss.
I hate my staff.
I hate my hours.
I hate my clients.
And I especially hate the fact that I have no work / life balance.
I feel like I'm being totally taken advantage of and I'm the only one in the team who pulls their weight.
I hate trying to convince staff to do shifts.
I hate having to come in and cover for staff who don't answer their phones when they're on-call, especially on the weekends.
I hate being called at all hours of the day and night for anything and everything, even when I'm not on-call.
I hate feeling unsupported by my colleagues.
And I totally hate the fact that I have to be on-call on Christmas Day, potentially threatening a what should be a lovely day with my husband and close friends, good drink and good food.
Bah humbug to you all.

I hate everything about you....bah humbug! too right mate!
Hope the rant made you feel better. As a hospital worker I also know the "joy" of having to work on holidays. This year I will be working Christmas day night.
Netchick sent me.
At least you had a chance to rant :)
Netchick sent me.
I know I should be sympathetic to your plight but I suspect it took a while for you to "train" these other people to depend on you so much. If you were a slacker like all the others at your office / clinic, then you'd not be in this bind.
The moral? Being lazy is its own reward!
I do wish you a merry Christmas, Olyal, and I hope it's an uninterrupted one. You and your husband deserve a wonderful holiday. Put your lovely foot down and make your coworkers shoulder their own responsibilities!
I'm sorry you have to work on Christmas. Have a Merry one anyway!
